Wanderlost

piano pop/rock

Wanderlost is a piano-driven quartet that brings a fresh and captivating sound to the Pennsylvania music scene. Known for their infectious grooves, funk-inspired horn lines, and catchy melodies, the band draws on a variety of influences, fusing elements of pop, rock, and jazz into a genre-defying blend that resonates deeply with listeners.

Formed in 2022, Wanderlost was born from a shared love for music making and storytelling. The band’s lineup includes Dustin Rainey (piano/lead vocals), whose piano work and poignant songwriting anchor their sound. Joining him are Jason Olear (drums), Mike Kokus (bass/vocals), and Daniel Hutton (sax), whose improvisational solos weave through the intricate piano lines and groovy rhythm section to create a sound that is uniquely their own.

Their live shows are full of passion and energy, where spontaneous jams and heartfelt moments intertwine with precision and playfulness. The combination of Wanderlost originals and cover songs from a variety of genres (90’s alternative, classic rock, modern pop) creates a fantastic and unique setlist every night. Whether delivering a heart-wrenching ballad or a clap-along anthem, the band’s live performances never fail to connect to their audiences.

Wanderlost’s self-titled EP, released in 2024, showcases their catchy hooks and complex musical arrangements. With songs like “Carolina” and “Sinners and Saints”, the album reflects on navigating through life’s uncertainties, a theme that permeates their music. Along with their latest single “Gaslight”, these songs are a testament to their ability to craft songs that resonate on a human level while pushing the boundaries of what piano rock can be.

With their debut album still making waves and a rapidly growing fanbase, Wanderlost is quickly becoming one of Pennsylvania’s most exciting and promising acts.
